Podcast Producer and Creative Director


Best-selling author and broadcaster, Laura Flanders (host, “The Laura Flanders Show” on Air America Radio, “Your Call” on KALW,  “CounterSpin” on Pacifica Radio), is seeking a full time podcast producer and promoter to work with her and her team to create a weekly podcast based on her nationally syndicated TV program.

Creative Director/ Podcast Producer would be charged with helping conceive, craft and post-produce the program, with much room for creativity and leadership.

The LF Show features in-depth conversations with radical thinkers and doers about the way forward for the arts, economics and politics. Candidates need a strong track record in crafting, marketing and distributing original content on deadline. They should be self-starters familiar with with the interview format, and working in small companies, in close collaboration with others.


  • Serve as Creative director for Audio Production.

  • Record and edit The Laura Flanders Show (TV) and source additional content as needed for audio transmission.

  • Write podcast promotion and description material.

  • Prepare branding and imaging of podcast in collaboration with social media and graphics staff.

  • Do podcast production tasks such as uploading to audioport and libsyn, maintain our radio pages.

  • Create effective web-presence for podcast on LF Show website and in TV broadcast.

  • Manage marketing & visibility in conjunction with LF social media team

  • Develop plans for distribution and monetization.

  • Develop sponsorship/underwriting package.

  • Research and reach out to potential sponsor/underwriters.

  • Keep up to date with developments in web and audio technology.


  • Minimum, two years audio experience, recording and editing podcast for transmission.

  • Minimum, two years experience meeting weekly deadlines.

  • Signfiicant social media experience with demonstrable impact.

  • Demonstrable familiarity with non-profit, social justice and independent media world.

  • Great communications and problem solving skllls.

  • Expertise with music or sound editing software: (Adobe Systems Adobe Audition; Avid Technology Pro Tools; MAGIX Software Sound Forge or equivalent. )

  • Familiarity with video creation and editing software (Adobe Systems Adobe After Effects; Apple Final Cut Pro )

  • Proficiency in web page creation and editing software — Content management systems CMS; Facebook etc.

  • Proficiency with word processing software — Microsoft Word; Scripting software etc.


Location: This position is a full or part time time position, only partially based in New York CIty. Competitive non-profit salary and benefits (for full time).
